ahh to be a grandparent

How nice it must be to be a grandparent. You hear the little words, I want so little that you actually still hear them. And being a grandparent you can fill those I wants with now I haves. The latest in our house if fish. Now if you recall Dathen asked for one fish in a bowl, he was going to name it goldy and feed and take care of it. Well some how this one fish in a bowl became 3 fish in a tank. and not three small fish, oh no one of these fish could probley make a sushi roll. But they are named Goldie, Goldie-Kyler Goldie-dad and Goldy-me (dathen)
We did have to go and make a few agestments to the fish tank. I felt it was not far the Goldie-dad could not turn around in the fish tank with out hiting his body on something, so we went and got to BIG bowls for the fish instead.
They all seem happy now, I just wonder who gets to explain why goldie is not swimming any more. Oh and my cats say thank you for the new toys. We had to tell Dathen the cats were playing tag with the fish, other wise all he does is screams at them to leave "his" fish alone.
and yes so far he as feed with, and want to keep feeding them, every 10 min.
Oh to be grandparents, you get the joy of bring a childs dream true and get to leave before it falls apart :) can not wait till its my turn. and I would not it any other way.

JUST SO YOU KNOW THE REASON WE BOUGHT THE TANK WITH THE FILTER AND AIR PUMP WAS BECAUSE 1. gOLD FISH ARE REALLY DIRTY FISH AND A NON FILTERED BOWL SHOULD BE CLEANED AT LEAST WEEKLY. WITH A FILTER YOU CAN GET AWAY WITH ABOUT ONCE EVERY THREE. 2. gOLD FISH DIE EASILY AS IT IS "BUT" ESPECIALLY IF OVER FED AND LACK LOTS OF FRESH OXEGEN.
It may have been a good option to keep the tank and just buy 1 bowl for the BIG "Goldie. His is not likely to live a really long life anyway. If you plut the 2 little guys in the tank then we could add another one every so often until he they have a "school"!! Anyway I'm sure it will all work out. I don't want to think you guys spent a cent on this project as it was a grandpa and grandma thing!

Tanks are way better then the bowls. Cleaning a fish bowl can be really gross.

If you get some allgey eaters or snails you dont need to clean the tank. all you do is replace the liners in your filter.

If you get live plants instead it helps as well.

Gold fish do die fast. A really good kind to try is, guppy, or betas.

It took me a long time to get my tank running smoothly. Anything under a 10 gallon tank is hard. Cause the temp can change so quick. And if they tell you that you need a heater for it they lie... the lamps heat the water MORE then enough.

They also have gravel cleaners now too which are great!!

If he really gets into the fish thing you may want to switch to Salt water fish they take a bit more work but a much more colorful and neat. You can do black lighting and such.

For about 600 bucks you can get a whicked salt water tank going!!

And hey they good thing about fish is its easy to find a duplicate!!
